Kate’s formal education was in Anthropology and African Studies at Smith College. In the time since, she worked for an outdoor retailer, and then ran her own jewelry design and production business for 12 years before taking time off to have a couple babies. In 2020, in an effort to spend more time at home with her two young kids, Kate transitioned from jewelry and pursued formal training and certification as a doula. Kate has spent the bulk of her adult years in service to others in varying degrees and capacities. Working as a doula was a natural transition that brings elements of her daily life and her work together.
Kate’s love of travel, discovery, and subsequent misadventures translate more easily into daily life than she would have expected. And nowhere is that more evident than when assisting in labor and delivery. She brings a vast knowledge base, adaptability, resilience, and most importantly, calm to life’s greatest adventure--the birth of your child.
